Fresherval
As part of a collaboration module I worked with Toolbox Marketing to plan and design a freshers event for their shopping centre client The Friary Guildford.
The result was ‘Fresherval’, a carnival themed freshers fair featuring carnival games in exchange for discounts and featuring themed refreshments and performers. The branding took on traditional carnival aesthetics combined with pops of bold colours and fun typography to connect with the target audience. For added connection to the center Fresherval was given the slogan ‘that fresherval feeling’ – a clever twist on the shopping center’s existing slogan.
Engaging with the target audience, the event featured a social media campaign encouraging students to share their fresher hacks, with the winner being awarded a giveaway.
Additionally, there were TikTok games such as hook-a-duck, and social media location filters added for an added dose of excitement. To increase awareness of the event the addition of a printed booklet was designed, along with an app to allow students to redeem their discounts for the event and over the year.
